Riverland Community College opened the season with a commanding 13–3 victory over Minnesota North College-Rainy River.
The Blue Devils took control early, erupting for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning. Riverland added runs in the third, fourth, and fifth innings, building a lead that Minnesota North could not overcome.
Austin Swenson had a standout performance, going 4-for-4 with a triple and driving in four runs. Peyton Ransom contributed a home run and two RBI, while Christiaan Koehler doubled and recorded three RBI. Raul Martinez, Carson Gehrke, and Jonathan Mora all added key RBIs, helping Riverland convert opportunities into runs. Ben Helfer also stole a base and added a run to the early surge.
On the mound, Blake Hershberger earned the win, pitching five innings while allowing three runs on three hits, striking out four and walking six. The Blue Devils' pitching staff limited Minnesota North to just three runs on 10 hits.
