Riverland Community College battled back from an early deficit to secure a 10-7 victory over Anoka-Ramsey Community College in a high-scoring affair at home.
After falling behind 3-1 through the first two innings, the Blue Devils exploded for eight runs in the third inning to take control of the game. Key contributors included sophomore outfielder Jonathan Mora (Miami, FL), who launched a home run and added two RBIs, freshman outfielder Hideki Ohira with a run and an RBI, and freshman catcher Ethan Mott (Rockford, IL) , who drove in four runs. Freshman utility Austin Swenson (Adams, MN), sophomore 3B Raul Martinez (Santa Isabel, PR), sophomore 1B Peyton Ransom (Austin, MN), freshman 2B Carson Gehrke (Oregon, WI), and sophomore outfielder Roland Figueroa (Ponce, PR) also chipped in to fuel the comeback.
On the mound, Riverland's pitching staff overcame early struggles. Freshman pitcher Ethan Doll (Fargo, ND) and sophomore pitcher Ben Zahm (Viroqua, WI) absorbed early scoring, but Zahm settled in to allow just one run over three innings while striking out one and hitting a batter. freshman pitcher Justin Joriman (Roseville, MN) closed the game with two scoreless innings to earn the save.
