Riverland Community College Men's Basketball earned a convincing road win Friday night, defeating Minnesota North College–Rainy River 88–59 behind a dominant first half and balanced scoring effort.
The Blue Devils controlled the game early, building a 45–23 halftime lead with aggressive defense and efficient transition offense. Riverland forced 26 turnovers on the night and turned them into consistent scoring opportunities.
Offensively, sophomore guard Lubab Kambalo (Sioux Falls, SD) led the way with 19 points, knocking down four three-pointers. Sophomore forward Joe Poyser (Wildwood, FL) added 12 points and 5 rebounds, while sophomore forward Tristan Coleman (Maywood, IL) finished with 10 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting night. The Blue Devils' depth was a major factor, with the bench contributing 43 points, highlighted by strong efforts from freshman guard Camden Fearon (Margate, FL) 9 points, freshman guard Ajay Brown (Miami, FL) 9 points and freshman center Elhadji Thiam (Dakar, Senegal), who nearly posted a double-double with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Riverland finished with a 41–32 advantage on the boards and recorded 13 steals and 5 blocks, holding Rainy River to under 39% shooting from the field.
