Riverland Picks Up 82-81 Conference Win Over Ridgewater

Riverland Community College picked up a crucial 82-81 home victory on Saturday afternoon over Ridgewater. 

Riverland set the tone early, building a 47–40 halftime lead behind strong interior play and ball movement. The Blue Devils dished out 19 assists on the afternoon and forced 18 Ridgewater turnovers, creating just enough separation to withstand a dramatic second half. The Blue Devils had an eight point lead with two minutes to play in the game. 

Sophomore forward Tristan Coleman (Maywood, IL) poured in a team-high 29 points, 8 rebounds (6 Offensive) & dished out 3 assists. Sophomore guard Tyson Helms (Tucson, AZ) was a stat-sheet stuffer netting 16 points (3-3 3PT), dished out 5 assists, 4 rebounds & 4 steals. Freshman guard Isaiah Lindor (Miami, FL) 11 points & snatched 7 rebounds. Freshman guard Cam Fearon (Margate, FL) 7 points. Sophomore forward Joe Poyser (Wildwood, FL) 6 points, snatched 8 rebounds & 4 assists

 

Riverland finished the game shooting 42.3 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from beyond the arc. Despite being outrebounded 43–39, Riverland's efficiency and composure late proved decisive.

#3 Devils improve to 21-1 (6-0 MCAC South) on the season with the win.
