Riverland Community College picked up a crucial 75-61 home victory on Saturday afternoon over Rochester.
The Blue Devils got out to an early lead in the first half by 15 points. Rochester made a run before halftime cutting the Blue Devils lead to 39-37 at halftime. Riverland responded after the break with a much cleaner second half, outscoring RCTC 36–24 behind defensive pressure and efficient scoring around the rim.
Sophomore forward Joe Poyser (Wildwood, FL) poured in a career-high netting 26 points (11-12 FG), snatched 5 rebounds, 4 assists & blocked three shots. Sophomore forward Tristan Coleman (Maywood, IL) 12 points, 9 rebounds & dished out 3 assists. Sophomore guard Romelle Bell (Chicago, IL) 10 points (4-6 FG) & 7 rebounds. Freshman guard Cam Fearon (Margate, FL) 10 points & 3 assists. Sophomore guard Tyson Helms (Tucson, AZ) 7 points, dished out 5 assists & 5 rebounds. Sophomore guard Lubab Kambalo (Sioux Falls, SD) 6 points.
