Riverland Women's Basketball lost their season opener Saturday to Vermilion 77-22. The Ironhawks defensive pressure proved to be too much throughout the course of the game. 

Riverland was led in scoring by sophomore forward Sydney Shelby (Homer, AK) with ten points. Freshman forward Morgan Klankowski (Austin, MN) finished with six points. 

Riverland is back in action Sunday afternoon agaisnt Rainy River.
