Minnesota North College–Mesabi Range used a fast start and relentless defensive pressure to secure a 79–30 victory over Riverland Community College on Friday evening at Mesabi Range.

Mesabi Range opened the game on a 24–11 first-quarter run. The Norse built the lead to 42–13 halftime.

Despite the loss, Sydney Shelby (Homer, AK) delivered a strong performance for Riverland, posting a double-double with 15 points and 21 rebounds to lead the team in both categories. Najima Hassan (Mankato, MN) added 5 points and 5 rebounds, while Ellasyn Carrier (Houston, MN) chipped in 3 points with 2 steals.

Riverland will look to bounce back tomorrow with another MCAC Crossover game at Vermilion.
