Riverland Community College Women's Volleyball fell in straight sets to St. Cloud on Saturday afternoon at home (17–25, 21–25, 16–25). Riverland will look to regain momentum Wednesday night at home against Dakota County.
The Blue Devils showed stretches of strong play, particularly in the second set, but St. Cloud Tech's balance on both sides of the ball proved too much as the Cyclones hit an impressive .270 as a team.
Offensively, Brienna Brewer (Rapid City, SD) led the way for Riverland with 12 kills, 16 digs, and 3 total blocks, while Claudia Hensley (Denver, Colorado) added an efficient 8 kills on .412 hitting. Setter Ashlyn McRoberts (Big Lake, AK) guided the offense with 15 assists, and Kiah Parkin (Crookston, MN) chipped in 7 assists and 8 digs.
Defensively, Brea Belting (Owatonna, MN) anchored the back row with 11 digs, and Isis Walters (Faribault, MN) and Ellasyn Carrier (Houston, MN) each contributed solid serve receive work.
Riverland finished the day hitting .068 as a team, with set scores of 10-7-44 (.068), 10-7-39 (.077), and 8-5-29 (.103).
